Organizer won't load again…help!

    Haven’t been able to get the organizer to load all day today…anyone else having problems? I am running Win7. Our ISP is Verizon mobile broadband. I seem to be able to load other sites just fine.

    What should I do?

    The Organizer is running normally. Are you seeing any error messages?

    No, no error message…just continues to say it is transferring information and never actually loads…

    t is loading ok for me (Win 7, Chrome)

    Just a thought – maybe clear your temporary internet files?  (You didn’t mention which Internet Browser (ie, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, etc) you are using, so I can’t give you details on how to do this…

    Ok, Ihave actually just done that recently but I will give that a try. Using ff, will try it in chrome. Thanks, I’ll give it a shot! 🙂

    How long have you waited for it? Usually your browser will time out and give an error message. But if you give up too soon and close the window then you’ll never see the message.

    There are some other things we can do to try and figure out what is happening. This is a bit technical, but if you can do it we can gather some good information.

    From your Start menu, in the search field, type cmd and press Enter.

    It should show a command prompt. Type tracert apps.simplycharlottemason.com and press Enter.

    That should spit out a bunch of information as it tries to make the connection. It may go for quite a while and it usually says “Trace complete” when it’s finished unless it has a problem and gets stuck or outputs an error instead. You can copy and paste the results here or into our contact form.

    I have let it sit for a long time, up to an hour even and it still wouldn’t load earlier today. But you are right, it should have eventually timed out — maybe a firefox problem? 

    Anyway I did the trace and emailed a screenshot of it to the helpdesk email address b/c for some reason it wouldn’t let me copy and paste it here or in the contact form, so had to do a work around. Anyway it should be there. 

    BUT I am now having a bit of trouble getting my gmail to load too, so maybe my speeds are down today. The weird thing is, this morning when I couldn’t the Organizer to load at all, I could load gmail, amazon, etc, but now the Organizer will load extremely slowly (as in, 2 or 3 minutes for one page) but the other sites are slow now too. 

    Anyway, thanks so much for your help. Oh — btw, running it in chrome now, it is still slow but possibly *slightly* faster.

    You said you were on Verizon mobile broadband. That’s over the cellular wireless network, right? If so, sometimes that’s just not as fast as they make it sound. It depends on a lot of factors, including how much use your cell tower is getting from other people.

    I did see some problems in the trace you sent that appear to be somewhere between our locations. I’m checking to see if there is any way to report it to the owner of that part of the internet.

    By the way, I didn’t see your message here that you had problems pasting the text when I replied asking for a text version. You should be able to highlight everything then right-click to copy. Then you should be able to paste it into an e-mail reply to me.
