This might be wishing for too much, but it can’t hurt to ask. 🙂
I know there are several of us on here who are trying to rein in all of our books and somehow keep track of our growing libraries. As I was thinking about how I will soon be entering many of mine into the Organizer for school purposes, I had a thought. Would there be a way that the Organizer could double as a home library database? Perhaps we could “tag” books, alphabetize them by author or title, have a box to check if we have loaned it out to someone…am I just dreaming? LOL I would be willing to pay a little extra for these features. What do you think? Is it feasible?
That sounds like our planned personal lists feature might handle what you need. We see these lists as being sort of like tags but private for you. You could make a list for your library and maybe a list for books loaned out. We might need to also add a place for notes to record who you loaned it to.
After reading the description, that sounds great! My only request would be that the “Own it” list would be sortable by tags and could be placed into subcategories (subjects) so they are easier to find. Then, I could search my own library for “American history”, etc. The book could then have a note beside it wherein I could type in the age range for that book. Am I getting too greedy? lol
We’re thinking of the lists of being much like tags work now. So a book could be on your “own it” list and also on your “american history” list. We already have some ways to show combinations of tags but we might need to make that a bit easier and intuitive.
I’ve updated the wish list item for personal lists to incorporate some of what we’ve talked about. I also added a new item on the main wish list for adding personal notes to resources.
