Ok am I the only one with this problem? Yell

I go to enter a new resource for my kids – it has 138 spots and I need to fill in each one.  I get about 1/2 way done and hit a wrong button and POW it’s gone all my work/time it’s lost.  I have to start over.  This has now happened 3 times.  I want to beat my computer.  I have no idea what I’m hitting I’m just typing and tabbing along and next thing it’s gone and I’m in my ‘list’ of added resources.

Ok.. venting over.. back to try again for the 4th time.  Wish me luck

I am very sorry!  I feel your pain……I will pray that things will go more smoothly for you today!

If I am entering a resource with a lot of divisions, I like to save it after I add a section and then go back and edit the resource to add another section. The edit a resource feature is a great because your work is saved as you gradually add a group of divisions at a time. I especially did this when I added our 365 day Bible reading plan.

Janell, this is off topic, but I’d love to see your plans.

I have had this happen twice over the years I’ve used the organizer.  I have sent any information I had to the developers, but as I didn’t know exactly what I did, it would be hard for them to track it down.  I do tend to use the TAB key to move from field to field…

It has been rare for me… but yes, if I enter a resource with a lot of divisions, I do tend to do it in parts….

@Misty, That certainly is frustrating and I’m sorry it’s happening.

I can see that you’re using Hughes Directway satellite internet service. Unfortunately, they are notorious for changing the data of your connection along the way. They have caused no end of troubles by doing that and they won’t respond to any contact attempts I’ve tried. I don’t know if that has anything to do with this particular problem but it could be a factor.

I would love to solve this once and for all, so let’s see if we can gather some more clues.

    1. What web browser software and version are you using (i.e., Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.)?

    2. What page were you on before you started to add a resource? Could it be that you were on your list of added resources page then clicked to add a new resource? If you somehow hit the keystroke for the browser’s back button then it would go back to the previous page. If that is the case, then you might be able to use the forward button to get back to your data.

    3. Do you add a few blank divisions at a time as you go or do you make enough for all of the divisions first?

Please let me know those things and any other clues you can think of and we’ll go from there. I’d also love to get a screen shot after it happens if someone is able to do that. Thanks.

I got entered!!  Laughing  I truely was venting and just wanted to know I wasn’t alone.

Yes, I should have done the save and then edited it options, but my head wasn’t working so fast today I guess.  LOL

Doug- yes I have Hughes the only way to get any type of high speed 🙁  I am using Chrome, #2 yes I believe I was looking at my list prior to adding a resource.  Hmm never even thought to use the forward button.  #3 I have done it both ways, usually I do all the divisions and then go back to the top and start entering in field #1.

Screen shot wouldn’t come from me, no clue there sorry 🙁

Thanks for the support.  I love the organizer and I’d do it 10 times to get it in, it really saves that much time of the year but I was not only changing the numbers but adding 3-5 words in each corresponding blankes.

All done with that one now though so on to more easy enteries, literature books!

Actually, we don’t think you should have to do that or think about it. It should just work.

We’ve been doing some testing and I think Jordan may have nailed it.

This only happens in Chrome and Internet Explorer. If you tab from field to field when adding divisions, the tab stops on the little trash icon but you don’t see it indicated. That’s why it takes two tabs to get to the next line. Then if you happen to press your delete key, it takes you back to the previous page. If you use your browser’s forward button you will get some of the data back but you lose the division entries.

In Firefox and Safari tabbing does not stop on the trash icon. It goes from the last field on a division line down to the first field of the next line.

We’re going to see if we can work around that and prevent it.

You guys are so responsive! How awesome. I used to work at a web shop so I know talented developers when I see them. Kudos for your quality work and maintenance.

WOW you are amazing and so thankful that you took my issue and actually want to fix it.  I just thought it was a ME thing.  Embarassed

We just fixed the issue that Doug described where you could have the trash can icon selected and accidentally go back to the previous page. Let us know if this is still happening.

THANK YOU THANK YOU I still have much entering to do and this will be a HUGE relief to know I will not ‘accidentally’ hit the trash.

I appreciate you doing this so much.  You are the best people to have on my side with an organizer.  Blessings from God on you all.
