the curriculum i used this year did a very good job of suggesting little fun activities to do with the kids that enforced the history lesson.  is there a place where i can find ideas for activities and such that are geared toward little ones?

If you’re studying American history, you may want to look at History Pockets from Evan-Moor. For the K-3 student I know they have Colonial America, Pilgrims, and Native Americans. You may also want to consider their Literature Pockets series. Sorry, don’t have the link; just google it or check them out at CBD or Amazon.

I like Hands and Hearts history kits. Very worthwhile projects, not just paper cut and paste projects. We made “knuckle bones” and are cleaning up an ancient Roman coin in the past month.

You might see if your library has Colonial Kids for ideas.

David C. King has a series similar to Kim’s suggestion. I just think they’re for slightly older kids, but they’re worth a look. I also remember two books by Peggy Parish–Let’s Be Indians and Let’s Be Early Settlers with Daniel Boone.
