That sounds like a really good deal.

I don’t really know much about Audible.  Can you (or someone) tell me more about what it is and how it works?

Sue-When You sign up for audible, you are charged $15 a month and that gives you 1 credit per month for audio books. Most of these books are normally from $25-$35 so their is quite a price difference. I think the first month is free for new members.

I only signed up because we wanted an audiobook for vacation that normally cost $35. I signed up and got it for my $15 monthly fee. I stayed signed up for one more month and used another credit. In the end I was able to purchase $70 worth of audiobooks for $30 and then I canceled my membership for now. I’ll join again after we listen to the ones I’ve already bought. We don’t listen to a ton of audiobooks so it’s not something I want to stay subscribed to year round.

Are they cd’s that they send you or are they mp3 files for a device?

They are MP3; though, in the past, I have burned some onto cds using iTunes or Windows Media Player

I am on Audible.com right now and I can’t see it on sale for $4.95. It shows $39.95.  Am I missing something?

I think the sale prices may be for Audible members only? Or you might try clicking on the link in the email Audible sent out yesterday.

Correct. The sale is members only. Audible also has buy one get one free sales for members, too. I got 4 Great Courses audios ( with PDF course book), Fahrenheit 451 and Gulliver’s Travels that way.

Is Audible a lending library or do you get to keep the mp3 files whether you continue membership or not?

    They’re yours!

We drive long distances regularly and we listen to a lot of audio books. Also, it’s a good sub for my reading as I get cotton-mouth and sleepy when I read aloud.
