    Hello wise women!

As I get started this week (gulp!), I am wondering if it is “OK” to read the same poem more than once during a week, and the same goes for the Bible passage we will read. Is the purpose of reading a poem just to expose them to beautiful words? For Bible, I don’t necessarily want to “breeze” through it – I want the kids to have enough exposure to it for it to really sink in. I don’t know if reading a passage once will be enough for that.  Do I underestimate their abilities??

Thanks for sharing your advice and insight.

    Hi MommaBerd!

By all means – we post the poem or passage in the bathroom, have it at the table during breakfast, and savor it and random times throughout the day or week for as long as we like (until it becomes a part of us).  I would suggest only reading a Bible passage once if you are requiring narration in order to build your child’s habit of attention.

    Have a richly blessed year!

I agree with Richelle.  We have some poems that we read just once for fun, but then we have others that we repeat for memorization.  I really don’t think there are any rules about it; just have fun with poetry!

Thanks so much for your replies!  I like the idea of posting the poem in the bathroom! Smile
