I am a veteran hser, new to CM. I met a mom of 6 who is beginning hsing next fall and wants to observe a hs day at our house. Has anyone done this and have advice for me? I am thrilled to help her and hoping to make it a confidence building day for her.

    Thanks,

I have never done this but if I did I would have her review Karen Andreola’s “Charlotte Mason Companion” and try to highlight the main points. Living books, spreading the feast, etc.  If it were me I would want everything to be perfect and then nothing would go right but that is what I would attemp anyway.  Hopefully someone else has better advice.

I did this and I just decided it would be a fun day, so nothing too serious. I had my children catch the new student up to speed on each book by doing a narration and then I would read etc. I left plenty of discussion time for me and the other mother too, which we did need and the kids had PE outside on the trampoline. We even did some LOF math and her son really liked that. LOL Just keep it real, but light and it will be fine. She stayed only half day though. Best of luck.
