Any thoughts on using this – Part 2 to be exact as extra reading for my son who will be a 10th grader in addition to SCM Module 4? Just worried that the one extra reading each day in addition to the family study is not enough for a 10th grader. He is so well versed in history, he could teach a class. But I want to be sure. Just wondering? Does anyone else add history supplements the SCM Module for this grade? If so, what do you do?

Why not think about adding some biographies or other real living books?  The Notgrass is dry, and if your son already knows a lot, I’m almost certain it would bore him.  But there is so much out there that would make excellent reading for him.

You are right. That is how he learned so much history to begin with! I guess I was falling into the trap of thinking that high schoolers need more “Schoolish” material. He wants to continue with Churchill’s books even though we are moving away from AO curriculum. I will look there for a few more ideas for him to round out the year. Thanks for the reminder about what we CMer’s are supposed to be doing!
