I’m trying to wrap my head around so much school stuff right now.  I might just be over analyzing but I am seriously driving myself crazy. Anyway just curious if, how, and when does SCM put what other curriculums call “non-western” history into their history modules. Thanks in advance for any hekp 🙂

I am not sure that they really do add any. I have planned to do summer studies of the various other cultures that we miss during the school year. There are so many contributions to humanity made by these other cultures that it would be a shame to not do at least a brief study of them.

An excellent resource of living books for this purpose is All Through the Ages.

Nina, when Charlotte Mason was alive I don’t think much of any non-western history was included. In general, they just didnt know that much of what happened beyond their own cultural barriers.

The kids I am currently schooling are young, but my plan at this time is to simply add it in where it seems to fit. For example Module 4 covers Middle Ages; Renaissance; Reformation, and for Geography Europe and Asia. There are tons of wonderful books about Ancient China that would fit nicely in here, with lots of science tie ins also.
