Is anyone going to the NICHE conference? I’m so excited to go and hear Sonya! I’ll be in her session on Saturday about SCM and would love to connect if anyone is going to be there – I feel like I know so many of your from reading all your posts, would love to actually meet you in person!
I’ll be at NICHE tomorrow, Friday, but won’t be able to come Saturday too. I always look forward to the conference, and it’s been so good to have SCM there!
We had a great time at the NICHE homeschool convention! Several of you stopped by to say hello and it was a pleasure meeting you personally.
Here are a few photos…
“Bookworm” from the SCM forum stopped by our booth and shared some good laughs with Karen and Sonya. (If you look closely you might get a hint about the next book we’ll be releasing. 🙂 )
Sonya’s session on Charlotte Mason and Her Methods.
Also from the Charlotte Mason and Her Methods session. Sonya is explaining a book of centuries.
The folks from Math U See were our nice neighbors on the floor below. This is peeking over the wall behind our booth.
I have to take a guess, Doug, and say….a Book of Centuries that is spiral bound and with Sonya’s special touch??? I know there’s one on the site for printing, but maybe something already bound and ready to use. ❓ ❓
Ooo Doug, Pick me!! Pick me!! I know. I had the pleasure of seeing Sonya at the North Carolina Home Educators Conference and she was telling me about the new book as we are doing History Module 1 this coming year. Can I tell, can I tell, pleeeeeease??? Hint: it is a book about Egypt and Bookworm appears to be holding it in her hand. I’m so jealous. It wasn’t out yet in NC. I will be ordering mine as soon as they are available.
Jone
Trying to remember my commandments and not covet my neighbors book.
No fair, Jone, you had privileged information! ( 😀 😀 ) Just kidding. Thanks for the “hint”. I thought it had something to do with the session topic shown in the pictures Doug provided of Sonya during her presentation. Never thought of looking closely at the book bookworm is holding. I’ll be keeping my eyes open as well, as we are also studying Ancient history this fall.
Okay, I’ll tell. It’s a wonderful living geography book by Mary Whately called Letters from Egypt. Even though it’s from 1879 the content is still relevant today. Plus it has many Bible references throughout tied to what life was like in Egypt. We were so captivated by it that we just had to bring it back into print.
Now I have to get back to work so we can officially announce the book later today. 🙂
