Yeah I probably am overthinking the history schedule. Trying to make sure we read the chapters from the bible stories book at the same time as SOTW, and coordinate any picture books too. I think I will go with my earlier, simpler idea- two history lessons per week. Each lesson I will read a subheading from SOTW or CHOW (these two I have lined up the chapters), a bible story, and a little bit of something else, just rotating through them; look at a page in usborne encyclopedia OR a picture book from the library OR do a history pocket, etc.

This year has been so eye opening! I did Sonlight last year and I decided I would go more CM this year and so I researched and followed as best I could to plan it all out and I put it all in the organizer. BEST THING EVER!!! I noticed we studied about the disciple Andrew and how he introduced his brother Peter to Jesus and how he introduced many others too. i talked about how we could be like Andrew today. Then when I started another resource….it was coincidently talking about our relationship with God and how we have to have a relationship with someone before we can introduce others….just perfect timing and just clicked together.  We have gone over the water cycle in2 different resources and I feel the overlaps just help to solidify differents things for the children and so is a kind of review to not have everything just line up perfectly. We have had so many coincidental lessons happening on the same day in different subject that kids are tired of hearing me say, “God sure does plan school well!” LOL So I agree with previous poster to just schedule what you want to cover and let God do the rest!  I do highly recommend the organizer..I use it completely now..no paper schedules what so ever and that is saying something since I am an OCD type A person who loves graphs and charts and schedules and check boxes!! HTH
