I’ve been starting to prepare for our next school year and wanted to use Module 4, but I noticed some posts about revisions coming for that particular guide. I’m new to SCM, so I was wondering if I should wait to purchase my materials. My oldest will have just turned 11 by next August and my twins will have just turned 9. I’m concerned that Famous Men of the Middle Ages and the GOAL journal will be too advanced for them. Also, I noticed some mention of “Visits to” can someone explain that to me.

    Thank you so much,
    Tracy

My understanding is that any changes will not show up for a while. So I would not wait for changes

We are doing year 4 this year. We replaced the suggested Geography with Visits to Europe. Visits To… is self contained one day/week so really easy to replace the suggested reading in year 4 with Visits To… series.

We have really been enjoying our year!

We have read some of the Famous Men of the Middle Ages, but swapped out for the suggested options, and have been very happy. My kids are 1st & 3rd grade.

Famous Men of Middle Ages are just longer chapters, so I sort of hit the “highlights”, I know they will revisit the time period.

Thank you Sarah. I found the Visit to…series and they look great. My kiddos will be 4th and 6th, so maybe Famous Men of the Middle Ages would be alright. Like momto2blessing asked, where can I find the suggested options?

Page 17 of the guide (on the sample you can download) it gives optional resources
