My husband and I are feeling led to homeschool for the very first time this year. Our daughters are 10 and 8, and they’ve been in public school up until now. I am very excited about this opportunity to homeschool them and they are extremely excited about being homeschooled; I feel like God has given me a wonderful gift to give to our daughters. I have been interested in homeschooling and especially Charlotte Mason’s methods for several years. SCM seems like a great place to get started!
Any helpful hints/advice as I prepare? I’m thinking that purchasing the Learning and Living DVD set would be a good investment.
Welcome! The DVD set would be the best purchase you could make. Sonya really makes Charlotte’s methods accessible…simple. Enjoy your new journey. It’s a blessed one.
I really enjoyed reading the Subject by Subject series of posts on the blog here. The Living and Learning DVDs aren’t in the budget for me yet, but I can’t wait to get them!
Welcome! I also have 2 DD ages 8 and 10. I pray that you find your homeschool journey a blessing for the whole family. I have just started watching the Living and Learning DVD’s and enjoyed what I have seen so far. They are a great encouragement. The curriculum guide is great to help you get started and guided towards what you want to do, even if you decide not to use what is suggested on it.
