Welcome! 5 is a great time to start because you can go as slow or fast as you want. Do as much as they want or as little, all inside or outside and you can just have a PJ day if that’s the best thing for the day.

Welcome! You are so blessed to have found SCM when your DC are so young! We {heart} SCM and their products. It is so great you took the time to figure out which method will work for your son (and which ones will not). That can be a hard seasons, but it pays off in dividends with children who love to learn!
Welcome! My boys are now 2.5, 5, and 7 years, and we all love the Charlotte Mason style of education. Very relaxed but they learn so much. Many people comment, “You can tell they are homeschooled because they know so much about ________” Just fill in the blank for whatever environment we are in that day– playing outside (my kids notice cool bugs and plants), church, the children’s museum, holiday family dinners.
Living books have been the key to most of their knowledge. I hope you are able to settle into a good learning schedule for your kiddos. Let me know if you have any questions about this age group.
Welcome! I have 2 boys. My oldest is almost 6 yo and we started a K year a few months ago. My youngest is 3yo and just tags along. We love CM!

Here is a great website with lists living books on math topics, most are picture books. We use these extensively in PreK and Kindergarten years, and even get them now to supplement RightStart Math C for a second grader.
