  • Hey Everyone! My name is Robin and I am a stay at home mom of 2 girls. They are going into 5th and 2nd. I have been looking on the website trying to put together a system for next school year. So far I got RightStart Math Level C, Your Business Math Series (Pet Store), Spelling Wisdom Book 1, Junior Analytical Grammer, and I definately want to get the Then and Now Bible Maps. I also love the idea of doing Trip journals because we enjoy doing alot of family vacations/field trips and the girls could journal about their trip on the way. For Science I want to do 106 Days of Creation Studies handbook,  with Considering God’s Creation for 3-6 graders. I do plan on borrowing alot of books form the library or downloading them to my Ipad. I was wondering what other recommendations you guys would suggest that I could use for both girls. Thanks!!

History. You can definitely do them together choosing from one of the history modules. They combine geography/Bible/history beautifully and you can keep your dc in the same time period using books for their individual levels as well as a few to read to them both.

I wish I had more time but my dc are calling. Others will chime in, I’m sure.

Just thought I would suggest SCM’s Planning Yiur Charlotte Mason Education ebook or book if you don’t have it already. It has helped me put together a plan for HOW to use the resources I’ve selected for the year. She walks you through it step by step. Wish I had had it in the past- it would have saved me from that “overwhelmed” feeling! 🙂

I second the Planning Your CM Education book.  It really has helped me get a plan together, along w/printable schedules to keep our days on track.  If you decide to use the Module Guides, History/Geography/Bible would be planned out for you. Math is always pretty easy to plan. The arts can be done one topic per day (composer one day, artist next, nature study, etc.) and don’t take long.  The key for me to not feel as overwhelmed is to have a good plan on paper that is doable for my family, w/o feeling crammed.  HTH some:) Gina
