Well, is it in the instant download or the DVD section? Those of us with only download accounts can’t get the DVD portion of the website to show up—so we won’t see it. It might be helpful to specify which way it is on Neftlix.
Also remember that netflix has different content based upon your country. So what someone in Canada can watch on streaing may not be available in the US, Great Britain, etc. And vice versa.
OK, that makes sense. We are download only. No worries Rachel! It is sometimes hard to find stuff on Netflix, so I figured it was operator error on my part.
@pollysoup: I haven’t watched it yet; I put it in my queue yesterday to come soon. Being that it’s based on a Dickens novel, I wouldn’t expect the type of content that exists in modern shows. BBC did Bleak House and there wasn’t any of what you’re concerned about.
SInce I have not read Great Expectations, I don’t know if there’s any nudity or bad language; perhaps someone who has a lot of familiarity with the storyline can answer you on those things. If you would like, I can contact you after I see and let you know; I’d be happy to do that-I’ll make a note to remind myself.
suzukimom, that’s a bummer when you hear about these things and you can’t access them (yet), huh? I didn’t want this to be so complicated!!! YOu’d think that since Canada is a part of the Commonwealth, you’d at least get BBC productions!
I watched it when it aired on PBS and liked it a lot 🙂 dont remember any nudity or cursing…but it was a while a go so I could be wrong! I’m 78.5% sure LOL 🙂
Speaking of Netflix, it drives me batty that I can’t search the DVD’s so I can see what is new. For the summer we disabled the DVD and just have instant. Anyway, this post jogged my memory about a BBC program I’ve wanted to watch for years called Blood, Sweat, & T-shirts (about the clothing sweatshops). Can someone tell me if they have that in the USA on the disks? Thanks!
MelissaB-I looked for the show you mentioned and it’s not there. I’ve started watching a new (to me) BBC series called CADFAEL from 2006, which has Derek Jacobi in it-a most excellent actor- as a 12th C. Welsh monk who solves crimes. For those of you who like that sort of thing (and can get it where you’re at), I recommend it for intelligent TV viewing. It’s based on the books by Ellis Peters and was broadcast on PBS Mystery!
I’m glad others chimed in who’ve seen the new GE version to give us a review.
