New Posts to personal email? SCM Team

SCM team I am confused and need some help. I use to only get a copy of new topics/comments if I checked the box. Now I get them randomly. Not every new topic comes to my personal email, and I have yet to figure out why some do and others don’t. I don’t know if I am the only one having this happen but it’s odd. Could you explain this to me. It started after the new format here on the site. Thanks Misty
We don’t have anything that e-mails for every new topic. It’s on a topic by topic basis.
If you check the box for “Notify me of follow-up replies via email” when you are posting then you should get e-mails for that topic.
If you click the “Subscribe” link at the top of the topic page it does the same thing but you don’t have to post anything.
It’s possible that if there are several posts made very quickly to a topic you may not get notified for all of them. The system may just mail the last one from the group, but I’m not sure about this.

Doug – so here’s an example. I have not been in to read or other wise the forum post : SM blogs. I have not been into this site in over 12 hrs yet I did get a copy of the SM Blogs sent to my email? Weird, hmm. Just thought I’d let you know
Also, please go over to that “SCM Blogs” topic. Way up near the top there will be a link for “Favorite” and a link for either “Subscribe” or “Unsubscribe”. Which does it say for you?
Yes, correct I am getting notifications for topics that I have NOT signed up for.
When I go into SCM Blogs it says Subscribe.
Also, yesterday I got a new one in my personal email for “Fifth Grade” which I also had not been on the forum, read or signed up for. I still have not been in that post about Fifth Grade as of today and I DONT get ever get any of the responses only the initial post.

Okay, I changed a setting to see if we can narrow down what is happening. Please let me know if you receive any other messages for topics you have not subscribed to.
I don’t expect this to completely fix it but I’m hoping to learn from it. Thanks.
So your message above came to my email at 2:55pm the next “new” forum topic came at 3:33pm the one on Triad, NC. Which I have not looked at or been on since I emailed/forum posted back to you earlier today. Sorry 🙁
Something weird for me too… Just looked in on the forum for the first time today and saw that I “posted” something a few hours ago! When I read it (Memorizing Poetry), I saw that it was a reply I typed a week or more ago that did not go through. Not a problem for me, but strange. Thought I’d pass the info along to the techno team. Thanks!
JenniferM, I believe the post you’re talking about got flagged by the spam filter. Somebody mentioned this morning that their post was trapped, and while I was rescuing that one I saw yours and freed it too.
I just got another post that was just started and I hadn’t read. I’m not yelling or complaining just letting you, so it may help you figure out why I keep getting them..
