Hi all! Just wanting to introduce myself here before I begin posting. I have looked in at this forum a few different times over the past couple of years, and am excited to finally be at the beginning of my homeschooling journey. I am a mother of one four year old boy, and have just ordered the Little Saints program to use with him in the upcoming year. I have been a fan of Charlotte Mason and her approach ever since I discovered her about ten years ago, and am looking forward to incorporating as many of her principles as possible into our study.
We are a military family, and my husband is about to leave for two months for a school. After that, we will be relocating from Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, to Clarksville, TN (in late June/early July.) My son is extremely sensitive and has a hard time adjusting to new situations (as we have discovered in previous moves/deployments), so as you can imagine, I am a bit worried about the upcoming year, and am intent on providing a stable home atmosphere for him. We already read voluminously, of course, but I think we are ready to start on a slightly more structured path.
I myself am a writer, a book lover, a food lover, and a devotee of the simple living lifestyle. My husband and I are Episcopalian. I look forward to meeting like minded people here, and to learning from all of you!
Welcome, this will be a great community to take with you wherever you go! Having your son at home instead of in and out of many schools over his years will prove to be a stablizing force for him, knowing he can always rely on having the same teacher and classmates! Also, random note about me, although I am not Episcopalian, it is my favorite word in the English language. I love words and I find Episcopalian beautiful, although it does get stuck running through my head in an annoying way sometimes! Strange I know, welcome to a somewhat strange community! My husband is gone for work for this coming week so I will pray for your family as you are apart for much longer! God bless.
