Are any of you using a Kindle? If so, what do you think of it? I would love to hear how the experience has been for you. Should we be bringing some of the SCM books to Kindle?
I’ve been keeping an eye on the Kindle reader too as we travel ALOT. We travel sometimes 2-3 weeks every month and it would sure make it easier for packing if all the books were already loaded into the reader. The steep price is what’s holding us back right now.
I wish it did have a backlight for reading at night.
I’m watching the new Kindle with great interest too. Of course at the moment it’s all pie-in-the-sky because no way do I have $379. LOL I used to think it was a silly idea but now I am reconsidering. My dh’s business partner’s wife has one older one, and they have reserved a new one. I don’t think I’d like a backlight–that would make it feel like a computer screen to me. I want it to “look” like a book page. I’m happy to shine a small reading light on it instead, just like I’ve done for night reading since I was tiny. 🙂 I’m excited about the “read out loud” feature on the new one—I don’t buy audio books much, although I’d love to have them to listen to while walking sometimes, but hate to pay for both audio and print versions of a book. Wouldn’t have to do that with a Kindle. Although I would have to find some sort of way to carry the thing around with me. LOL I am waiting to see what the computer-generated voice sounds like on the new one. I hope it doesn’t sound like my Tom-Tom–I think it yells at me. 🙂
Now, I’m just wanting one that I can also riffle the corners of the pages while I read–think Amazon can manage that?
