I just saw the email for this new resource!  My son is 9, with dyslexia and dyscalculia, he’s in tears daily with MUS Beta.  I’m assuming this Set would be right where he is and last a while; he’s still really struggling with basic math facts and concepts.  I love the idea of guided lessons for this, as I have had serious health problems for the last year so this would be a blessing!

I am currently using this series with my son and it is phenomenal. I have homeschooled for 20+ years and have never found a math resource that  I love as much. I highly recommend it.

We have been using all of the resources from Richelle and also the ones recommended by her but I must say, I have felt a bit unsteady.  I was watching the videos and making scripts to remind me of the order to go in and to keep me moving in the right direction in each lesson.  I could just cry, I am so thrilled about this new resource.  It is everything I have been trying to do on my own!  I have pre-ordered.  I am thankful for the hand holding this offers me.  My hope is that I will gain confidence in teaching it as my children gain confidence with each new step that is taken in the mountainous land of mathematics!   Thank you Richelle!!!  I realize the diligence it took to put this together while at the same time homeschooling your own two boys.  I am thankful to benefit from your hard work!

This would be the first year of math covering 1-100.  If you go to the bookstore, you will find the new book there and there is a sample you can click on.  It shows you the scope and sequence of what is covered in the book! You will love it!

    Regan,

My daughter is 9 going on 10 in March. Will this be to young? Is there away to email or something to ask Richelle? dont want to spend the extra if its to young.

It’s more a matter of where your daughter is in understanding math concepts, Jill. Is she solid on place value? Carrying? Borrowing? Those concepts are solidified in Book 1 with numbers under 100.

The first few lessons introduce numbers 1–10, but you could easily skip those or go through them quickly to get to the place value lesson and start from there. The lessons themselves are not babyish; they require focused attention and are mostly oral, so you will be able to see comprehension as you move along.

The emphasis in Book 1 is on understanding how math works; memorization of math facts is not stressed until Book 2.

If your daughter grasps place value, carrying, and borrowing in double digits, you probably wouldn’t need to start with Book 1.

    Does that help?
