I was never a “reader” and am afraid I am rubbing this off on my children as we all struggle to sit down and read together as much as I like. I have an 8, 5 and 3 year old and for this first time in a long time they were fascinated by a book…the World of Narnia Collection (short picture book series). We had never read the Narnia books or watched the movies as I thought it would be too scary for them and I was quite surprised they enjoyed it. I am needing suggestions on more books like this, not scary but that are full of adventure, mainly picture books that are more lengthy than some.

Thanks! I want our family to so enjoy reading but we need to find the right books! 🙂

what about just reading through the actual Narnia series? Especially since they seem to have an interest in the story now.

or the other favorite series of mine is the Little House on the Prairie series.  I started reading the Little House series when my oldest daughter was 3… we’ve been through them many times (and narnia as well) and my younger kids have just grown up hearing them.

We just finished the Narnia series a couple of weeks ago, loved it and so worth it to make it until the end.

We are now reading The Good Master and will be reading the other Kate Seredy books, just saw that there are 10 of them so that should last us a while…
