I have a very young sister who is about to give birth to her first child.  She is across the country and I won’t be able to help her in person.  I was blessed to read many wonderful books about caring for infants and early childhood development and would love to share that information with her.  Unfortunately, she has a pretty severe learning disability and reading is a real struggle for her so I don’t believe she would be able to read most of the wonderful books on my shelves.  So I would like to send her some videos instead (she doesn’t have internet access, but she does have a DVD player).  Does anyone know of any sources for good videos? I’d like to find things like how to breastfeed, infant wearing, playing with infants, the importance of tummy time, SIDS safety and early childhood milestones.  I can either purchase DVDs or burn DVDSs from internet content when that is allowed.

La Leche League International has an extensive list of audio books and videos (not just about breastfeeding), and if you contact a local La Leche League group near her, they might have some of them in their library for her to use. It might be a good place for her to connect with some ongoing support as well.

Here’s the link to their audio/video list, and once there, you can search for a group near her as well: http://www.llli.org/bec/additaudiovideo.html

I also spotted two infant care dvd’s on Amazon that you might want to check out: ABC’s of Newborn Care and Bringing Baby Home: The Ultimate Baby Care DVD.

    HTH,
