I have a question about inputting information in the Organizer. I just signed up this evening for the 30 day free trial period. As I was inputting the info (we started school a few weeks ago) I was including all the lessons that we have completed thus far. I was entering my son’s math book–MUS Gamma, we started off with lesson 15. I selected the days that we worked on it and finished it. Then when I went to enter the days for lesson 16, the same way–days we worked and day we finished. I then created a report to see the progress, the two lessons were duplicating themselves. It looked as if we did lesson 15 and 16 on the same day. I hit the undo and tried again–same results. I even deleted the book completely and re-entered the info and came up with the same results. Am I missing something? Are we able to enter past information without a hick-up in the system? Any suggestions? Thank you so much for your response in advance. I am very excited about this scheduler, so I hope I can figure it out before my time runs out!
This is one of those questions where it would be so much easier if I could just look over your shoulder. 🙂 I’m trying to think of the steps you took and where the gliche might be. OK, let’s do this: I’ll write down the steps I would take and maybe you can spot any differences between my description and what you were doing.
Search in the Bookfinder for “Gamma.” Click “Schedule It” under the student text listed.
Assign the book to your son. Select Subject: Math, Method: Complete, Use Lessons: 15-30, Start On: today’s date, select days of the week that you want it to show on your Daily Plan.
Now, here’s a possibility of what might have happened that just popped into my head: the Start On date can’t be in the past. Well, you can put in a date a month ago, but when it shows up in the Daily Plan you will still be looking at Today and be able to access only up to two weeks of dates prior to today. So if you completed lesson 15 three weeks ago, you won’t be able to show that by checking off Worked On or Finished check boxes. The easiest way to record those past lessons at this point would be to just attach a note to the current lesson and type in the lessons and dates you’ve already done before you started to use the Organizer. Does that make sense?
When the assignment pops into the Daily Plan, open the Show Two Weeks to expand and see more checkboxes and check off the dates that you worked on and finished each lesson, if they are showing. If you worked on or finished a lesson prior to the oldest date shown on the checkboxes, you’ll need to just note that in your attached Note. Once you get to the lesson that fits within the two-week time frame that is showing, you can check off its applicable boxes and continue until you get to your current lesson.
Now, I hope I helped rather than just confusing the issue. Let me know if this explanation doesn’t solve the problem, and I’ll mull it over some more.
Thanks for responding to my question. You are so kind to take time out of your schedule to help us all individually. You did help so don’t worry about adding confusion.
I did exactly as you broke down in the steps–but I did try to use a past date. So I will have to make a note and go one.
Here is the problem I now see–due to deleting and reentering–I now have lesson 15 showing up 4 times as well as lesson 16 showing up 4 times. I am not sure how that happened. I would try to delete the gamma book and start over, but it is as if it’s remembering the original date.
I don’t have but 3 or 4 books in for my son. Should I just delete my son (that sounds funny) and put him in again as a student. I am only into this trial period like 24 hours (if that) so I don’t mind trying it. I just don’t want to make this worse then I already have.
Alright, I usually can get around in a program without a lot of hand holding but I don’t know what I have done now. Is there anyway you can clear my organizer from your end to completely nothing! Everything is getting duplicated or it is saying lessons are completed that we have not done yet. HELP!!!! It may be that I need a good night sleep and things will be better in the moring.
I finally realized what was happening–I had two windows open for the organizer and did not know I did, so when I was trying to reset something it was going to the first window–I believe. When I closed both windows and reopened everything was the way it was suppose to me.
I told you I need to get some sleep. Sorry for the all the silly postings.
