Apple offers educator discounts on most products ($200 off Macbook Pro) and currently is offering a $100 app store gift card with purchase as part of their back to school sale. I don’t mean to flood the forum, but $300 off is huge!
Just thought I’d mention it in case anyone is in the market for a new computer.
Online scroll to bottom. Choose education store. Type in homeschool. It’s that easy to find. To buy, you show proof of homeschooling. My Hslda card works as would a letter from school board.
We’ve used this before and never had to show any proof of homeschooling. I just tried it up to the point of checking out and was never asked for any verification. We’ve also walked into an Apple store and purchased with homeschool pricing without having to provide any proof.
Thanks Doug. We’re in the discussion stage at our house. Our PC is fritzing most of the time now, so we were already considering a computer. Maybe this time it will finally be a Mac. 🙂
I did some comparison pricing since once you register as a homeschool teacher you don’t actually see what discount they are offering.
The MacBook Pros are $100-200 cheaper depending on what you purchase. Most of the iMacs are $100 off. The MacBook Airs are $50 off. And then you get the $100 gift card for the app store with any of these purchases as Christy mentioned. I wish they included discounts on the iPad since we have been looking at getting another one, but they do offer a $50 gift card with it.
