We have always spent lots of time outside.  I’ve taught my kids to be observant and to appreicate the beauty that surrounds us outside.  They are always curious about things outside and I’m happy so far with what we’ve done in this area.

My oldest is 7 and she will be starting “2nd grade”.  I feel like now our time outside should, at times, be more of a study than I’ve required up to this point.  Does anyone have any ideas/thoughts on how to facilitate a good study of nature for younger ones?

eta:  I just re-read this and the sentences don’t flow well.  Sorry if this is confusing…I’m pulling together my last minute planning and feeling bit frazzled! lol

Ooops. My kids were asking me to take them to the playground so I closed out too quickly. Thanks for posting that, suzukimom. That’s the exact link I meant to post.

No problem, I totally understand! lol

But guess what I found?  I looked through the 106 Days guide and there are nature study suggestions all through it!  I should have known Sonya wouldn’t leave that out.  😉

I’ll use the webiste you suggested to supplement…thanks! 🙂
