I just got the book The Handbook of Nature Study by Comstock.  My question is:  SHould I or do I need the Hours in the Out-Of-Doors?  It’s not that I don’t want the latter, I was just wondering for financial puposes.  Right now any little bit we can save on is good.

If you have and are USING the Handbook of Nature Study – I think you’ve got enough.  The Hours in the Our of Doors is super helpful in summarizing all that CM had to say about Nature Study and how it is to be done.  I have both and for actually doing Nature Study Anna Comstock’s book is… thorough!  🙂  If you have no idea what Nature Study is or why it’s important or how to do it, then a good guide would be Hours in the Out of Doors.  Hope that’s helpful!

She has many of the challenges free, doesn’t she?  Maybe not as convenient to use as picking up the guide altogether, but another option, if I’m correct.   I have it and find it very helpful and motivating as well as hand-holding since I’m not a natural at nature studies.
