Right now, I’m homeschooling a 2nd grader, kindergartner and preschooler.  I’ve been wanting to do nature notebooks with them, but it’s been hard to get started.  I’m a graphic designer, so I whipped up these notecards and activity pages to make nature notebooks for the kids.  I thought you might be interested in checking them out.  http://www.scrapartist.com/shoppe/product.php?productid=3730&cat=0&page=1  We are still planning on lots of unstructured nature time, as well, but I’m hoping these will be a good way to introduce them to more formal study.  We’ll see.  😉

Wow! This looks so neat. You did a really nice job on this! I decided to make my own nature journals, too, for my son and me. For his, I compiled plain paper, watercolor paper, fingerpainting paper, and handwriting paper. I divided each section by a thin piece of cardboard. I had him decorate a cover, then I laminated it. My plan now is to take it to an office supply store and have it bound. I went this route because I simply couldn’t find what I wanted in a store! For my journal, I have plain paper, watercolor paper, and lined notebook paper divided also by cardboard. I dried some flowers for my cover and now just need to laminate it and have it bound. I can’t wait to start using it!
