    Hello!

    I’m trying to figure out if I should let my student bring her nature journal outside with her or if she should do the drawing after she comes inside.  It sounds like most peope do their journaling inside.  However, I find that it would be much easier for her to draw if she could actually see what she was drawing and not have to do it by memory, although doing it by memory is a good skill to learn.

    Hi Carlie,

    Both ways work.  You can also bring paper and a small clipboard, and paste a picture into her journal, or, something we have done is take photographs of critters, plants, etc. while out and about, then draw them from the photo later.  They don’t fly away then.  Wink
