Is anyone aware of any good nature-type books (in the same vein as the Burgess books) that would deal with the flora and fauna in Africa in particular, or more tropical climates in general? These could be for any age really, but particularly I am looking for something use with my 7 year old. Since we don’t live in North America most of the time, I’d like to find something that is more applicable to our local surroundings if possible.

    Thanks for any ideas!

Jen, Jean Craighead George has a series… One Day in ___. I know there is one on a tropical rainforest, one on a dessert, I believe. I’ll check my shelf to see what I have re. Africa.

We have a book we haven’t started using yet called In the Land of the Lion. It is an older book. I can’t say how it will be but I am optimistic about it.
