I read a few books this week from the library that I thought were great living nature books for our 1st grader, 4 year old and 2 year old. I thought I’d pass them on. The illustrations were beautfiul, too.

“At the Edge of the Forest” by Jonathan London

    “Little Swan” Jonathon London

He had several other good looking titles that looked good also.

“Pale Male Citizen Hawk of New York City”

    “Cactus Hotel”

A few about hummingbirds we enjoyed:

The Hungry Hummingbird” by Aril Pulley Sayre

“A Hummingbird’s Life” by John Himmelman

“About Hummingbirds: A Guide for Children.” This one wasn’t a story about a bird, more dry facts, but the illustrations were great.

We like the “Let’s Read and Find Out: Science,” books. Our library has dozens of them on a variety of topics from space to plant life to animals.
