Okay, need help.  For the past week, off and on, I get what looks like mosquito bites, mostly on my legs but I have gotten them in other areas.  They get bigger and bigger until they connect, then look like welts.  They itch something fierce, last about 10 – 15 minutes, then they wear off.  The closest I could find is maybe it’s hives (webmd.com, you know).  Unfortunately, my hubby lost his job so we don’t have health insurance so I can’t go to the md to see what it could be.  I’ve never had allergies nor any type of adverse reaction to anything in my life.  I haven’t changed anything in my life, food clothes, etc, is still the same.

I think I know what’s causing the outbreaks, it’s probably nerves, so I am praying more and trying to relax.  According to webmd, nerves can cause hives.

So, was wondering if anyone had any natural remedies to recommend (I promise, I will not hold anyone accountable!).  I mean mostly for the itching.  I’ve purchased two different types of anti-itch creams but neither one worked (Benadryl Spray and Calomine lotion).  I’ve also tried hydrocortisone cream but that didn’t work.  For the 10-15 minutes that I have the welts I am just MISERABLE, trying very hard not to scratch!

    Anyone?         THANKS!

We use something called Miracle Salve from beeyoutiful.com. It’s an all natural ointment. Works wonders on mosquito bites, rashes, etc. It’s a little pricey but lasts a long time (the 2oz jar lasts us 6 months to a year even with 7 kids).

I would use StingStop by B&T along with the homeopathic remedy Apis (This is the brand I use but you can’t get it locally.  This is just for information.  http://www.1-800homeopathy.com/apis.html ).  Both you can find at your local health food store.

Something you can buy at the grocery store is Coconut Oil.  We use it on any type of iching, bee stings, and sunburn just to name a few.  It’s easy to get and it relieves the ich.  Misty

Bless your heart. Yes, nerves can cause all sorts of nasty symptoms. Try some chamomile tea (or an herb tea) and rest now and then. You can take the wet tea bag when cooled and put it on the raised places and sometimes the swelling will go down from the cooling effect. You can also grind up oatmeal in your blender, put it inside a clean sock/cheesecloth/stocking and float it in a warm tub to relax in for a while. Jewelweed spray (Hallelujah Acres) is very soothing on bug bites and skin things, as well as yarrow salve. If you have a health food store, they can give you all sorts of great ideas. Blessings and feel better~

For itches we use baking soda paste. Just mix baking soda with warm water until it makes a paste and rub onto the itchy site. It relieves the itch when helps the healing process go faster. Our chiropractor says that taking a B1 supplement will deter bugs, especially mosquitoes, from biting you. What you’ve described definitely doesn’t sound like mosquito bites, but maybe that will help you in the future!
