We just finished our first week for this new school year!

Really happy with how it went!

Just wondering what to do about written narration(for my 11 years old).

This summer we got in the habit of reading before bed (I used to do that only w/the younger ones).

So for now, what I would normally use for oral and written narration will be read for bed time to cut down on school time.

They do the oral narration but I feel written narration at bed is too much.

Would have him write about his week count as a written narration or it needs to be about a book?

I would use the written narration for history or science readings during the school day and probably at most two a week at this age.

We are using Noeo science and it has them do drawing and write a little something everyday.

The history books are the ones I read in the evening. Maybe I will have to change that and read something else at night. I just thought it was a good way to make school shorter!

We read literature at night and history as part of our school day. I had my 10YO do one written narration of his history readings each week last year. This year we will move to two.
