narration

    We have been trying to do narration since August and we don’t seem to be getting anywhere.  I have tried to stop more often to have my DD (7 years old) narrate.  I am trying to stop after each paragraph or more often.  But this morning I read a paragraph and asked her to tell me about what we had read so far and she says “I don’t know.”  If I end up asking her about something specific she says “I don’t remember.”  How do I get anywhere when she won’t tell me anything at all?!?

    Maybe you could try starting the narration yourself. Or, what about non-oral narrations like drawing. Do you see any of the readings entering her play. My kids narrate history a lot when they are playing :0)

    How is it going with the narrations?  Have you had any successes in this area?
