My son will be 5 in June and loves to be read to. Any suggestions for some gentle mysteries that he might enjoy? Nothing scary or intense, just looking to add a new dimension to our book reading.

    Thanks!

Some of the Happy Hollister books are mysteries.

Try some of Crosby Bonsall’s books, such as the Mystery of the Cat’s Meow. The Nate the Great series may work, too. I don’t know if you’d consider them “twaddle.”

A to Z mysteries by Ron Roy and The Capital Mysteries by Ron Roy have been a HUGE hit here over the years.   Boxcar Children’s mysteries are wonderful too. We also like the Happy Hollisters.
