My intro…

Good morning ladies,

I have been reading the boards for months now and just wanted to post my intro and “hello.”

My name is Nedra and I have been homeschooling for 13 years in So. California. I have considered myself a Charlotte Mason style educator for the last 10 years. I had a bit of a negative experience with a friend a couple of years ago that caused me to step back from the Charlotte Mason approach. We were doing oral narrations (with my then 9 yr. old) but not written narrations and I was told that I wasn’t a *true* Charlotte Mason educator. Sigh…all of a sudden it felt like an “all or nothing” sort of thing and I went a different direction with our homeschool.

It has been so wonderful for me finding this board and visiting/reading the past few months and “returning home” so to speak. As I have perused the boards and read the curriculum outlines I have felt such a peace and joy in our homeschool as I know this is the perfect fit for our family and our lifestyle. We have been implementing almost everything I have read about here for quite a few years now, and I ordered and received the “Genesis-Deut.” guide and quite a few other items last month (they are all FABULOUS!!!! I am so thrilled!) and am so excited about our homeschool plans. I have been searching for many years for Bible/history guides exactly like the one I purchased here! 😀

This board/site is a treasure! Thank you so much for putting the time into making the Charlotte Mason style so beautiful and simple. It has been wonderful reading your posts and noticing that many of you implement CM in slightly different ways and make it work so beautifully in your homes.

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and sharing ideas!
