I am just wondering if anyone has combined using My Father’s World ECC curriculum with some of the SCM resources? I am thinking about using My Father’s World for history and geography and Bible, and using SCM for language arts and enrichment. I don’t know if that will be too much or not. Has anyone done this or anything similar? I really like the looks of ECC and learning so much geography and culture.
We did ECC five years ago. I used the MFW recommendations (it was our first year homeschooling), but I don’t see why you couldn’t use the SCM ones instead.
I used MFW for years before I came over to SCM. ECC was our favorite year! I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t use SCM resources for language arts and other enrichment along with the MFW resources for geography, history and Bible.
I did this a few years ago and it worked really well. Essentially, you are using the MFW framework for what to study, when, but the living books really made the countries come to life! You would want to plan out which books correspond with the MFW plan, but that’s pretty easy to do. Hope you have as much fun with it as we did!
