For next year, here is what I have for my 13ds so far:
Bible/history- SCM module 3
Math- finishing Zeta, moving on to next level
Science- Apologia General Science
Spelling/writing- Spelling Wisdom ( finishing book one, entering 2)
The above will be included with family work ( poetry, art, literature, foreign language )
My son struggles with language. He reads fairly ok, but writing is challenging. So here are a couple of questions:
1. Should I do a grammar program, or should I wait until he is “beefed up” with one more year of written narration practice?
2. Do any of you have some insight on including / excluding anything else?
3. Also, there is opportunity to do a speech club, but I am not sure if this is something that would benefit him right now. I’m sure he’d be expected to write a lot, and it would be difficult at this point. But then again, a little peer pressure might be what he could use.
Thanks for reading this far! 🙂 Open to your suggestions!
This looks very similar to my son’s list for this coming school year. I don’t have any advice regarding the grammar program. My ds is using Easy Grammar Plus/Junior Analytical Grammar and will finish up the JAG the first semester of next school year. The EG will take longer, but we’re not in any hurry.
This coming year I may add in Jump In/Lightning Lit, but not quite sure. If I do one this year it will be the Jump In (or another writing program) and leave the LL for 9th grade.
