I wanted 1 medium size gift for my daughter this Christmas to balance out what her brother’s were getting. I had no idea what to get her. We have a lot of books, but very few girl-related books. (We have 4 boys she is the only girl.) So, I came here and looked at some ideas in the organizer. We bought her the book Raggedy Ann and a small Raggedy Ann doll to go with it. We both love it! She gets Raggedy Ann everytime we cuddle up on the couch to read and then plays with her later. It is so sweet! I am so thankful for the resources that are shared here. It is hard to know all the great books out there for all the different levels of readers I have.

This is so sweet! I really enjoyed hearing this and it reminds me of how sweet and precious the little ones are (after a particularly trying moment earlier with my youngest!) — so glad you shared, Dawn!

Awe, that is so sweet! Yes, we loved the original Raggedy Ann and Andy stories, and my son enjoyed them just as much as my daughter (and I) did. I am also so thankful for this site and the resources shared as that is how I got the idea to order the book, too.

My kids are older now (6 and 8), but we still read and enjoy many of these titles for bedtime stories. Tonight we read Uncle Wiggily and the New Year’s Horn. I read it every New Year’s Eve. That was part of Sonlight P 4/5. It’s also at Amazon. There are many holiday stories in it, as well as everyday

I bought the book after we listened to the Raggedy Ann and the Raggedy Andy books from Librivox.org.  When my oldest (12) was begging to listen more of the little kids’ book, I knew it was a winner.  I have a Raggedy Ann coloring book and they color while we listen.  The books have wonderful illustrations and I am excited that we were able to get them! I am so glad that your dd loves them. It makes it much more fun for you, too!

You know I have an old Raggedy Ann and Andy doll my mom made for me when I was a young child. It even had my name embroidered where the heart is.  I even remember going to see my first movie. That was when Raggedy ann and andy came out at the theatre.  Boy, was that years ago. I think I will pull them out and give them to my little girl.  Thanks for the walk down memory lane.  It has been so long ago that I forgot about my friend in the top of the closetSurprised.    She loves to read with this neat dragon puppet.  He has some really cool eyes. She loves when I speak in the special voice of the dragon…. LOL… I have been sick the last week and my dragon voice sounds more like my sick mommy voice… At least that is what my daughter said… Tehe he

                    Thanks for sharing!

    We have Uncle Wiggly too!

Chocodog, that is so funny about your daughter and your voice. She will love having your doll. That is even more special!
