Sorry, I probably confused you about the fleece, no don’t use that for wipes. I meant to use micro fleece for liners inside the diaper, the poo washes right off that way, and it keeps the baby’s bum dry. Some babies are sensitive to fleece though, it’s a synthetic material.
I liked flats, although in the early days it’s too much folding for me, but you can also quad fold a flat (so it’s like a pre fold) then lay it in the cover. I loved prefolds and covers, and I don’t like sizes, so I did infant refolds, then moved to the premium size and just folded down the extra, or cut it off and made my own for the size I needed. I prefer one-size covers (once baby isn’t teeny), Diaper Safari are cheap and worked so well for us!
Prefolds definitely take more than one dryer cycle to finish, and flats hung dry in less than an hour sometimes. They dry very quickly in the dryer.
I never snapped onesies since the extra pressure seemed to cause leaks, just left unsnapped and tucked in, or did shirts instead.
http://www.pinstripesandpolkadots.com has great information, and http://www.diaperswappers.com does too, and that’s where I buy and sell all my diapers (or craigslist). You can get some great deals on things. Or watch for sales on the covers (right now Diapersafari.com has buy 2 covers get one free)
