    Happy November, everyone!

It’s like many of you are family and friends because of our little virutual community here on the forum. So I’d like to share a project with you that our kids (from the SCM families) put together.

They have created a fun new online video series that will have weekly episodes for the next several weeks. It’s based on the idea of the yearly NaNoWriMo challenge to write a 50,000 page novel in 30 days. The five-minute comedy shorts explore what happens to the characters of a novel when the writer ends up playing crazy tricks to pad her word count.

Besides just creating videos, this project involved networking with and mentoring others across the Internet. They started with an online workshop helping young writers with scriptwriting and expanded to having several writers, an actoor, and a composer become part of the project.

It’s called Month of the Novel and I hope you all enjoy it. Can any of you connect actors in the videos to SCMers you’ve encountered here before? (I’ll tell you later if you don’t figure it out.)

If you do like it, I’m sure it would be an encouragment if you can help spread the word by following and liking on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Thanks.

Watched it, and it’s great!  Can’t wait to see more.  Also liked it on FB.  🙂

Okay, there wouldn’t be any Shafers or Smiths in the video–that would be too obvious.  Um….um….I’m thinking, I’m thinking….

The writer character is not a Smith or Shafer but the rest of the actors are.

You might recognize the character Bree, the big sister, as Rebekah Shafer from our recently released Handicrafts Made Simple videos.

And if you ever filled out our contact form it was likely Jordan Smith who replied. He was the director and played the part of the traveling jester.

My kids and I are highly amused and can’t wait for the next installment!  The teens are off plotting how THEY would overcome the obstacle . . .

Very funny! LOL! My ds7 keeps repeating, “the inescapable wall of doom!” over and over. It seems to have left an impression on him! Ha!
