Module 6 Question, Sonya or anyone:)

We will more than likely do this module for next school year (beginning September-ish). I know the revisions will not be completed by then, but we still want to follow the booklist as close as possible.  My question is…is there a booklist somewhere of World History that I can choose from and alternate like we are doing with Module 5??

My kids are loving the alternating days of readings right now so I would like to continue that in the Fall.  But, I’m at a loss for tracking down books that not only fit that time period, but ones that we don’t want to miss.

My boys will be in grades 7 and 3 (with a Year 1 tag-a-long).

I will probably check out BF and TQ, but have never used TQ and have only been using BF as of last week:)

    TIA:)

And I have a question to piggyback on this:  is there a target date for when the Module 6 revisions will be completed?  With Module 5, I noticed that the changes to the list of living books were placed on the curriculum guide early on, even though the spines are not quite finished.  If that will be the case for Module 6, I’d be very happy.

I usually take my list of books to the used curriculum sales I attend in the late spring/early summer, so any portion of the Module 6 list that is available for my 5th & 8th graders would make me joyful enough to dance like Snoopy!

    Thanks,

    Sue

I would be dancing right along with Sue if I had a list to go by even without the ‘guides’ or ‘spines’Laughing.

Not that I wouldn’t buy them, cause I would, but since they’re not ready I would love a list or some suggestions:)

Sorry, I didn’t see your question, my3boys. I was working on formatting the Module 5 handbook. Smile

The best (but probably unsatisfactory) answer I can give is that once I get the Module 5 handbook done, the next project is the calendar. After that, I will be able to start work on fine tuning Module 6. The books up there right now are just some possible suggestions. I have a feeling several of them will be changing as we revise to include both World history and American history.

BF and TQ are great resources for more titles. I would also recommend All Through the Ages from Nothing New Press. I refer to its book lists often for suggestions.

I’m really excited about the revised Module 5, and I have great hopes for Module 6 too! Target release date for the Module 6 handbook is spring 2012, and we will modify the curriculum guide chart as soon as the book choices are solidified (probably late winter 2012).

Thanks, Sonya. I will get to working on making some choices on my own using the 3 references…maybe I can cross reference some and come up with a good selection.  We’ll see..I do have some time, but I know it can take a while to make selections and find the chosen books:)
