Module 5 Recommendations??

Hello, everyone! I am about to order books for our next school year (we go Jan-Dec because of our income flow)and I am looking for some advice.

We are planning on using the SCM guides and recommendations for Module 5, but combining them with Module 1 for the fine arts related studies. Module 5 is next chronologically in our history study, and I chose Module 1 in the other areas because we have never used SCM completely before and it seemed simpler to start at the beginning for picture study/music appreciation, etc.

Just wanted to check with you wise folk who have been down this road before me…

Any books/resources you loved and used with Module 5/ Module 1? Any substitutions I should consider? Things you would have done differently in retrospect?
