I think I found an error in the Module 5 Handbook as I’m planning our year. It shows Amos Fortune, Free Man as having 20 chapters, but there are only 10 in the book. I’m going to add in a book to take the place of those ten chapters, but I thought I’d mention it.
Ooo, you’re right Christie. I think I’m going to look for a book about Lewis and Clark to go in there…. would love to hear what you’re putting in for those 10 weeks in grade 4-6?!
I think we’ll add Johnny Tremain to fill that gap. We have MANY (probably too many) resources for this time and I plan to put the extras out for free reading.
Oh, my! Thanks for pointing out the mistake, Christie. I just checked the lesson plans and it looks like there are only 10 slots for that book anyway. It’s listed as reading 2 chapters per day to cover the supposed 20 chapters. So if you read 1 chapter per day, you’ll cover the 10 chapters of the book in the time slot allowed. Clear as mud?
Now to go look at my notes and figure out where those 20 chapters came from. (Must have been a brain slushie!)
