    Hello,

This is my first time to respond to a group discussion SCM. I am hopeful to get some feedback as I am making decisions for our schooling next year.

I found a book set called, “Around the World in 180 Days” by Sherrie Payne.  It has a teacher guide and a student workbook and the child creates a journal for each continent. I do love this idea. I have the books.

At the same time, I have discovered SCM materials for history. Would it be overwhelming to do both? I am thinking of doing Gen- Deut/ Egypt SCM and using the Africa section out of  the 180 Days books as a supplement for this. We would do each continent section for each year as we go through. I hope I am making sense.

Does this sound doable or is the SCM guides really full or things to accomplish and read on its own.

Thank you so much for feedback.

I do not have experience with the other guide, but the SCM guides are very full. However, it is your school and if there are things that you want to add in- go for it 🙂

Around the World in 180 Days sounds like it would be your geography, which is done 1x per week with the guides, but again, you could set a time each day for that and do history. It may make your day long so you might need to scale back on something else. It all depends on how much you want to cover this year . Hope that Helps!
