Do you already read during breakfast or lunch? I have had trouble fitting these books in also unless they are what my DH is reading as our family read aloud…but instead of reading a whole book on a certain missionary I have started using Hero Tales by Dave and Neta Jackson. There are 4 volumes filled with three stories each of different missionaries.
Since the stories are short I can fit one in during lunch or during a “break” in the day. Or when the kids are just getting “wild”. I say “ON the couch I am going to read from Hero Tales!” and all the kids come running. I read the short story and then we are off onto other things.
Of course I would love for my dc and I to know the whole story of these great missionaries but for now this is a way to introduce many missionaries and countries (great for geography) to my children in little snippets of time.
It’s better then nothing. 🙂
