Does anyone have a good tool for memorizing the books of the bible. New Tesament is the first priority here. I’ve found a few lame songs that are relatively unhelpful on youtube. I don’t want to have to buy something. But maybe a familiar kids tune that the books can be set to. Or a Rhyme or SOMETHING. Something simple maybe? Let me know if anyone has any ideas.
TIA
Daniellemomof4MemberWe actually listen to a cute and catchy song we found on youtube every morning after our hymn. My older kids know the books of the Bible from being in AWANA but we don’t go anymore and my 8 year old ds is the one I am doing it for but the other kids like singing it with him. It did take me awhile to find one I liked on youtube though.
Lesley LetsonParticipantwe have the Wee Sing version of the books of the bible and it seems to work well.
missceegeeParticipantI’ve taught kids from 3 all the books of the Bible by just chanting them in order. I have recorded this for them to listen to at will and in the many years I’ve been teaching, I have only had one or two kids who didn’t learn them all. Songs are helpful for some, but the reciting has been just as effective.
I start at the beginning of either the OT or NT and go through them all once or twice a day. This is currently in my memory box under a monthly review.

delightx7ParticipantI agree with Christie, just chant them in order. I learned them for the first time when I was 6 by reading them aloud each morning for a month (Christian School). I still know them like I know my own name 30 years later.

kelsymomof3MemberThank you guys for that advice. It took her about 30 minutes just reciting them over and over again and practicing writing them as a list for copywork
