We are on Lesson 48 of SCM Module 3 (Matthew-Acts/Ancient Rome).  I am confused about what the Map Drill is for this lesson.  Are there particular Mediterranean Islands we are to locate and name? or Is it just an “observation” lesson about which islands were controlled by the Rome?  We are not using “Uncle Josh’s Outline Map Book”, just a map I printed off the internet.  I am wondering if my map is not detailed enough to include these Islands.  Any thoughts?

That part is just for observation. The map drill is to review the countries they know from the previous geography time. Then you can look together at all the islands and mention how Rome was capturing countries along the coast and controlled all the islands.

Thanks Sonya.  That makes sense now.  I appreciate your quick response.

We are on this lesson next week so I am attempting a meal from The Foods of the Greek Islands by Aglaia Kremezi.  I found it through interlibrary loan.  Even if you are not up for cooking something from it, it mentions many islands, has wonderful pictures of the food, people, and landscape, and has lots of commentary on the islands.  It is just nice to page through and read bits from.
