OK, so I know I like McCullough’s 1776, John Adams, and one other that of course I can’t remember off of the top of my head.  So anyway, I was scrolling along on Amazon checking out some offerings for my oldest student, when I came across all of his other books.  Has anyone read any of his other books?  Did you like them?  Would you be comfortable allowing your high school student to read them?  I am try very hard to get through much of my older student’s books, but time grows short and the list of books I need to get through is still embarrassingly long.

I’ve also read The Greater Journey:  Americans in Paris (liked it better than I liked John Adams!); The Path Between the Seas (the Panama Canal book–good, but lots of people die); and Mornings on Horseback.  I wouldn’t have a problem letting any of my older teens read them, but they are long and none of mine would probably be that excited about any of the three.

Hmmm… thanks. Perhaps I’ll just add them to my reading list, then.
