Maybe Doug and others – which Kindle to get? 3G keyboard, 3G touch or is DX worth the bigger price?

Any of the Kindles with E-Ink would require a seperate booklight.  (I don’t know about the others).  So my Kindle 3G with a Keyboard from last year requires a booklight.  The person who bought it for me as a gift splurged and bought me the Kindle Book-Cover with built-in light… which is great because it doesn’t need batteries – it uses the Kindle’s power.  It does make the Kindle a little thicker and a little heavier – but as I’ve only ever used the Kindle with it on, I find it great.
