We have had to actually limit his reading time and “require” him to play instead or he would read all day. I am trying to figure out his first grade schedule, and want to know your thoughts on this. I think developing the imagination is really important! He does like to play legos, and of course he likes to play outside. But he loves to read. Right now he spends probably 1.5 hours a day reading his choice of books. Should I push him to do more playing instead? Or should it just be up to him? I would encourage you to get that outdoor play time, even if it means arranging playdates. You could also send him outside to read (or other activities that are portable). How wonderful he loves books so much! September 11, 2013 at 6:27 pm mama_nicklesParticipantI have 2 girls, aged 3 and 1 as well. They do love playing together!I ended up rearranging some stuff for DS’s day, and added in an extra session of legos, and a session of playing with his 1yo sister. I think we are making progress.Viewing 3 posts - 1 through 3 (of 3 total)The topic ‘masterly inactivity for 6 yo’ is closed to new replies.
